Surprised but impressed. Well done Mr & Mrs Wright! Sounds like a hell of an adventure and it’s always best done before the babies arrive. Make an effort to get off the well worn tourist routes – you will be well rewarded.
Will be interested to hear how the trip unfolds. Nice blog site.
Petes!!! Your a hard man to impress so I take that compliment with a smile.
An adventure it will be that’s for sure. We had debated doing it for so long and decided it just had to be done so like you said we are getting in before the babies come along
We are planning on traveling mostly overland on buses and trains which will have us mingling with the locals and we are on a backpacker budget so no fine hotels for us
ok maybe the odd fine hotel here and there but we will have to earn it!
Hopefully by the end of the trip I will be a changed woman and I will be able to join you in being an ‘Unpretentious One’ hahaha
Hope you enjoy following along and all the best for 2012!!!
Hi guys sounds like its going to be so much fun.love your site will look forward to watching your journey
We have a similar itinerary! At least for the early part of 2012. We’ll leave Sydney on January 4th and plan to be in Chiang Mai for Songkran and will do a full moon party in early April as well. Hopefully we’ll bump into each other along the way!
Just had a look at your site and we are covering much of the same places – thats awesome! I’m sure we will manage to bump into each other – at this stage we are in Chang Mai 19th to 24th March so looks like we will miss you there but may see you elsewhere in Thailand or maybe even China
Enjoy your travels!
Wow, no wonder this took you so much time and energy. It is great and I can’t wait to follow you on here on your travels. Travel safe my darlings
Hi Mum!!! Thanks for checking the site out.
Yes, lots of time and effort has gone in but it’s so worth it to be able to share our adventure with everyone. Hopefully we will have access to the internet via Wi-Fi in most places so we can update every few days. Then you won’t have to worry as much
We will miss you xoxox
Joining you a bit late, but looks like a great itinerary. I look forward to doing some reading up on your adventures, as we’ve been to many of the same places! We spent May 2011-March 2012 in Asia, Southeast Asia, India and a brief stop in England/Scotland on the way home. Thanks for sharing your travels.
Hello Heather, Thanks for following along – we love sharing out travels and its great you have been to many of the places we have been lucky enough to visit. We cant wait to make it to England & Scotland – let us know if you have any hot tips on these places!
Greetings from Paraguay! Just found your website by chance looking at what to do while in Athens. My husband and I are traveling to Egypt, Israel, Greece and Turkey this Friday and are really looking forward to a great adventure. Love your coments and pictures.
I read that you plan to travel to South America by the end of the year. If you come to Asuncion just let us know and we will gladly show you around. If you are looking for a nice hostel you may contact Black Cat http://www.hostelblackcat.com/
Safe travels!
Monica
P.S. My husband´s great grandfather came from Australia, the Birks. We visited Australia in 2005 and loved it.
Hello Monica – thanks for reading our blog! Its fantastic to hear you and your husband are also heading off on your own adventure!! We would love to make it to Egypt one day so would love to hear your experience. Greece is amazing and you will have so much fun.
We fly to South America on the 5th December and we cant wait! We dont have very long to explore such a huge part of the world however we will be sure to get in contact if we get to visit Asuncion – your offer is so kind and if we get to visit it would be fantastic to have a local show us around.
Australia is a very special place and we miss it more and more each day – such a beautiful country that we cant wait to properly explore when we get home!
Enjoy your travels, have fun, make memories and stay safe.
